Description

Kiln Hill Cottage is an early to mid-18th century cottage located on Brunthwaite Lane, Silsden. The building is constructed of rubble brought to course, with dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. It has a double-depth, two-cell direct-entry plan. The left-hand end doorway has a Tudor-arched lintel, composite jambs, and a stop-chamfered surround. The windows are flat-faced mullioned, with plain stone surrounds; the mullions are slightly recessed. The ground floor of the first bay contains a three-light window where the central mullion has been removed and the remaining mullion placed centrally. The first floor of the first bay has a three-light window. The second bay contains a smaller window without mullions, above which is a three-light window. The left-hand gable has a cope and kneelers. A central stack rises from the ridge of the roof.
