Description
The Grange is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of rubble brought to course with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and a two-cell plan, featuring a single-storey outshut at the rear of the first cell and three windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes two large mid-20th century windows with plain stone surrounds, which do not match the building's style, positioned on either side of a central doorway that has double tie-stone jambs and a chamfered surround. The first floor has three windows with double-chamfered surrounds and almost square reveals, originally designed as three lights, two lights, and two lights. The left gable is coped with kneelers, a lantern finial, and a stack, while there is another stack on the ridge. The rear features a three-light window in the outshut and a kneeler with a crocketed finial. The left-hand return wall has a two-light window that is missing its mullion and a small chamfered light in the outshut.
Inside, the housebody contains stop-chamfered spine beams, and the outshut features a large principal rafter and chamfered purlins.
