Description
Dent House is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with an adjacent outbuilding from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is built of rubble stone, featuring roughly-shaped quoins and cut dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. The right end stack has been rebuilt in grey brick. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. It includes a central gabled porch with a boarded door and four-pane sash windows, except for a four-pane casement window above the door, all set in stone surrounds. There are end stacks on either side. The one-bay outbuilding on the left shares the same roof as the house and has boarded double doors beneath a partially slatted window with a timber lintel. The rear of the house has similar windows, although some glazing has been renewed. A pent shed on the west side of the outbuilding and a lower extension at the rear of the house are not considered of special interest.
