Description

Lower Bents Farmhouse, now a house, was built in the middle and late 18th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble with stone dressings, and has stone slate roofs which are now tarred. It features two stone gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and comprises two sections, each with one window.

The left-hand section is taller and has a reglazed two-light mullioned window on the upper floor. Below this is a door with a stone lintel, flanked to the left by a buttress and beyond a 20th-century three-light casement window. A single-storey, rendered lean-to addition is attached to the left, and has a stone slate roof. It contains a door with a hood over it, and a square 20th-century window to the left. The lower right-hand section has a reglazed two-light mullioned window, and below it, the surround of a three-light mullioned window, with one light blocked and a 20th-century two-light casement window. The interior was not inspected.
