Description
Bryn Cottage and Moor Cottage, originally a single house, date to 1704 and were later divided into two cottages, with alterations in the 19th century and late 20th century. The house is constructed of coursed squared stone, with the rear wing pebbledashed, and features ashlar dressings and steep pitched concrete tile roofs, topped with two brick gable stacks. One gable has kneelers. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The south front has a three-window range. The central window is a two-light casement, flanked to the left by a similar window and to the right by a single-light window. All windows have chamfered stone surrounds. Below, a 20th-century door has a stone lintel inscribed "A W 1704". To the left of the door is a small window, and to the right, two two-light windows, all 20th century and with stone lintels. The right gable facing the street has a 20th-century casement with a wooden lintel, and below it, two small windows, the left of which is blocked, both with stone surrounds and label moulds. The rear wing to the right has a small window with a stone surround and, below to the left, a similar window. To the right of that is a 19th-century three-light casement. The north gable has a small window on each floor, with stone surrounds and label moulds. A lean-to porch is set to the right. The interior was not inspected.
