Description
This building, originally a school and now a house, was constructed in 1827 and has undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. It was built by D'Ewes Coke and features coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof, which is now tarred. The roof has a single gable and a single internal wall stone stack, both of which are coped. The gables are also coped and include kneelers.
The building is one storey plus attics and has a three-window range. There are three chamfered 2-light cross mullioned windows, and above these, there is a central gabled dormer that contains a 2-light stone mullioned window. The gable end facing the street features an inscribed tablet with a chamfered surround, and to the right, there is a 2-light cross casement window. To the left, there is a stone doorcase with heavy jambs and a lintel, leading to a mid-20th century half-glazed door. The left side of the building has a single-storey projection under a catslide roof. The interior has not been inspected.
