Description
88 and 90 Townhead Road are three houses that have been combined into two. They were built in 1686 and have had some additions and alterations in the late 20th century. The exterior is made of coursed squared stone with an artificial stone slate roof, featuring a catslide at the rear and a single gable and ridge stacks added in the 20th century. The building has a continuous ground floor label mould and coped gables. It is two storeys high and has a four-window range. On the left, there are two three-light chamfered mullioned windows, while the right side has a two-light and a three-light window from the 20th century, both in chamfered openings. To the right, there is a 20th-century door with a large lintel that is inscribed with initials and the date. On either side of this door, there is a four-light chamfered mullioned window. To the left, there is a door with a smaller lintel, and to its right, a reglazed four-light mullioned window with two of the mullions removed. The right gable features a two-light mullioned window on the right and a single light window on each floor to the left, all with chamfered surrounds and label moulds. The interior has not been inspected.
