12/176 Outbuildings and yard walls to north-west of Startforth Hall

Outbuildings and yard walls, late C18 and early C19: Coursed rubble with cut stone and brick dressings; graduated stone slate roofs. Buildings around yard at rear of Startforth Hall north-west wing. Tall flat-coped walls on north and south of yard, backed by pent outbuildings; north wall has boarded door in alternating-block surround. Larger west building has blocked door in 2-bay south end; small Gothick window with old latticed glazing in raised brick surround in gable above. Projecting left bay has boarded door under stone hood on corbels. Small window with similar glazing in east wall. 2 boarded doors under timber lintels on west, with pent privy at south-west corner.
