Description

The garden wall and attached outbuildings to the west of Wester Hall date from the 18th century and have undergone later alterations. They are constructed of coursed rubble with stone dressings. The privy and dovecote feature a Welsh slate roof, while the west range has a roof covered with 20th-century grey tiles.

The wall on the east side of the garden connects to the north-west corner of Wester Hall and includes a doorway with a lintel that has been re-set from the house, inscribed with "William Smith 1732." The square privy and dovecote at the north-east corner has a boarded door on the south side and a low pyramidal roof. The east wall features a boarded basement door and a stone external stair leading to another boarded door. There is a 4-pane Yorkshire sash window on the right and an opening to the attic dovecote, which has a stone alighting shelf.

The tall wall on the north side of the garden has flat coping and includes four square-headed rebated bee-boles with projecting sills. The wall of the farmbuilding range on the west side of the garden has three similar recesses, one of which is blocked, and two boarded doors. This range connects to the gate lodge. The rear elevation of the range displays three segmental-arched cart entrances and three boarded doorways set in chamfered surrounds.
