Description
The lych gate to the Church of Holy Trinity, likely built in 1863, is made of timber and features a Lakeland slate roof with a moulded stone ridge-piece. It is supported by two posts that carry a frame with cusped braces. The structure has diagonal boarding over collared rafters, with moulded ends that project below the eaves, and all members are stop-chamfered. The roof is hipped, and there are double gates with an open trefoil-arched arcade above pierced panels, along with ornamental metal cresting and hinges. This gate is included for its group value.
