Description

WALLINGTON DEMESNE WALLINGTON NZ 0384 21/204 Outbuildings and yard walls to north of 20.l0.69 The Garden House II GV Outbuildings and yard walls, 1766. Squared stone with dressings; slate roofs. Rectangular yard with stable block on north and smaller yard beyond. South elevation of stable block 1 storey, 3 bays. Each bay has boarded door in chamfered surround, flanking bays set forward with pyramidal roofs, carrying flattened ball finials, with spikes, on swept bases. Returns show quatrefoil windows; C20 double doors in left return. Rear elevation shows central 12- pane Yorkshire sash in stone surround, with boarded window in hipped half dormer above; 3 boarded doors, slit vents. Yard walls have flat coping; mounting block set against internal face of west wall. At north-west corner of small yard, pair of pigsties with henhouse over; 2 low sty doorways, small window with vertical glazing bars above. Gabled right return has raised boarded door.
