Description

The conservatory in the walled garden at Wallington was built in 1908 for Sir George Otto Trevelyan. It is a wooden structure with cast-iron and glass elements, featuring six bays. The roof has an off-centre ridge supported by clustered iron rods, with patterned spandrels and braces that match the principal rafters. At the west end, there is an aedicule that holds a stone lion mask spout with an oblong marble basin. At the east end, a classical marble head is set on a stone column inscribed with "G.O.T. 1904 C.T."
