Description
Spa Mews is a cottage built around 1824, designed in the Tudor style, with lower outbuildings on the west side. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It is constructed from grit stone ashlar, with coursed rubble outbuildings and mid-19th century brick additions at the rear. The roof is slated, featuring a crenellated parapet and coped gables. There are paired ashlar stacks with crenellated tops. The projecting flanking bays of the cottage have two-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. The central bay contains an arched doorway with a fanlight and a square hoodmould, with a lancet window above on the first floor, also with a hoodmould. The outbuildings have a slated roof and a crenellated parapet, with an arched doorway featuring traceried doors and a hoodmould, along with two blind arched windows on the first floor, which also have tracery and hoodmoulds. Spa Mews, along with the gateway and fountain, forms a group.
