Description

St Chad's College is a house that has been converted into a college, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. The building has three storeys and three bays. There is an internal step leading up to a six-panel door on the left, which is framed by an architrave with a pulvinated frieze and cornice. Above the door, flat brick arches are present over the sash windows, which have glazing bars in wide boxes. The ground floor windows are flush with the wall, while the first floor has a sill band. A two-brick band marks the second floor level, and there are chimneys at each end. Additionally, there is a boot-scraper recess beside the door.
