Description

The garden walls and piers to numbers 2 to 7 on High Row date from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. Constructed from sandstone rubble, these walls enclose a roughly rectangular area of sloping land between High Row and Low Road. The walls stand between 1.5 metres and 2.0 metres high, featuring founded rubble coping on the west and south sides, while the east and north sides have flat coping. The area is divided into three walled gardens by north-south walls. Notably, the north wall of the western garden has been modified to include railings, and the north wall of the eastern garden features an iron gate with spearhead railings, while the south wall has a 20th-century gate.
