Description

This is a two-storey, three-bay house dated 1759, as indicated by an inscription on the door lintel. The house has undergone alterations in the late 20th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed sandstone and has a renewed pantiled roof with brick stacks. The front elevation features a central 20th-century door within a flat surround, with a lintel inscribed "RG 1759". A late 20th-century bow window is set within an enlarged opening, and there is a blocked doorway to the left. A four-pane sash window with a raised sill and tooled lintel is located to the right. The first floor has a central bay which is blank, flanked by four-pane sash windows. The steeply pitched roof has a coped right-hand gable with a shaped kneeler; the left-hand chimney is made of old brick, and the right-hand chimney has been rebuilt. This property is included on the listing for its group value.
