Description
Mayfield House is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast and painted masonry, with a pantiled roof featuring a double course of sandstone flags at the eaves. A brick stack punctuates the right gable. The house is two storeys and two bays wide. A circa 19th-century four-panel door with a four-pane overlight is set within a raised surround featuring a Tudor-arched head. To the right of the door is a sixteen-pane sash window in a matching surround, and two similar windows light the first floor. The steeply pitched roof has slightly-swept eaves. A section of the building attached to the right was largely rebuilt in the late 20th century and is not considered of architectural interest.
