Description
This is a milestone located about 170 metres north of the track to Hall Hill Farm, likely dating from 1793. It was created for the Wolsingham to Gateshead turnpike. The milestone is made of painted stone and features a round-topped slab that stands approximately half a metre high. The side facing the road has the number 17 incised into it, with the stone being white and the letters painted in black.
