Description
The Griffin Public House is a building that has been roughcast and painted, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It features a single depth plan and is situated on a curved corner site, with the entrance located at the corner. One bay of the building faces Whitecross Street, while three bays face St. Mary's Street, where there is also an additional attached lower building. The structure is three storeys high, with tripartite sash windows on Whitecross Street consisting of 6 over 6 panes flanked by 2 over 2 panes, while the top floor has windows with 3 over 6 panes and 1 over 2 panes. On St. Mary's Street, there are 6 over 6 pane sashes and 3 over 6 panes on the top floor. The roof has a low pitch with a hip at the Whitecross Street end and a stack on the rear wall. The additional block features two doorways and an 8 over 8 pane sash window above. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior was not observed during the resurvey, except for the plain bar interior.
