Description
24 Church Street is a 19th-century building designed in a Neo-classical style. It features a painted brick front with a recessed center flanked by giant pilasters, a dentil cornice, and a blocking-course. The building has hipped pantile roofs with two stacks on the roughcast right side. It is a narrow, three-storey and attic, single bay structure. The contemporary double shop front includes a central entrance and pilasters with fluted volutes supporting a fascia with a dentil cornice. The first floor has a six over six pane sash window in a timber surround, while the second floor features a three over six pane sash under brick voussoirs. The attic has a low horizontal sash window. At the rear, there is a four-storey cross-gabled block with a single window, end stacks, and small-pane sashes. Inside, there is a cast-iron column on the ground floor, but the interior details were not available during the resurvey, except for the restaurant premises.
