Description
23 Church Street is a three-storey building with a rendered and painted front and a Welsh slate roof, located at the corner of Church Street and St. Mary's Street. The facade features one bay facing Church Street, one bay on the chamfered corner, and three additional bays along St. Mary's Street. Bays 1, 3, and the upper part of bay 5 are blind recesses, while the other bays contain 6 over 6 pane sash windows on the first floor and 3 over 6 pane sashes on the upper floor. The shop front, likely from the early 20th century, appears to have been altered in the late 20th century, with the entrance situated on the chamfered corner. The house entrance in bay 1 is framed by 19th-century panelled pilasters and features a late 20th-century pediment, along with a six-panel door that has two glazed top panels. The rear elevation was not observed. The interior was not available for inspection during the resurvey, except for the shop premises.
