Description
Tyler's Residence at the Masonic Lodge is a two-storey building constructed with sandstone rubble, faced with unpainted roughcast on the main elevation. It has a Welsh slate roof, featuring a rendered stack on one side and a brick stack on the other. The layout is a double depth central entry plan, with two windows on the front. The entrance consists of a two-panel door topped with a transom light and a flat hood supported by brackets. The windows are eight over two pane sashes, with smaller versions on the upper floor. The plain roof includes a rendered stack on the left and an added red brick stack on the right. The right return gable displays rubble with red brick used for the flue. Above the door, there is a plaque that reads: "This Tyler's Residence was opened by W. Brother the Hon Sir Walter Vaughan Morgan Bart. PGW. P.G.T. Lord Mayor of London on Sept 8th 1906." The Lord Mayor opened the new Public Library on the same day. The rear elevation has not been inspected, and the interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
