Description

Llansor Mill Cottage is a two-storey building constructed from local red sandstone rubble, much of which is painted, and features Welsh slate roofs along with stone and red brick stacks. The cottage has a T-shaped plan due to a rear wing, which is now flanked by late 19th century and late 20th century lean-tos. The rooflines differ across the structure.

The entrance elevation includes a central section with two windows to the left and a single bay to the right, which has a lower ridgeline. The entrance features a plain plank door with a small glazed panel. The windows are 2 + 2 pane casements, with the upper panes positioned close to the eaves. The steeply pitched roof has gable stacks, while the right section has a plain door below and a window above, maintaining the same eaves line but with a lower ridge line and pitch. A red brick gable chimney is present.

On the left return gable, there is a small window on the ground floor, while the right return gable has a small window on each floor. The rear wing has two small 2 + 2 pane casements on the east side, with a lean-to behind the main range. The west side features a gabled dormer in the main roof and is mostly covered by a lean-to that includes a gabled porch and a 4-light casement, with two rooflights above.

During the resurvey, only the ground floor was observed. It has been altered and opened out at the rear, but the Victorian living room, complete with its iron grate, remains intact.
