Description
16 Nevill Street is a three-storey building with a stucco front and a Welsh slate roof, featuring a red brick chimney stack. It has a double depth plan and two windows on the front. The ground floor includes a late 19th-century shopfront with pilasters and a fascia, showcasing a large plate glass display window on the left and a smaller one on the right of a panelled door with an overlight. Historical photographs indicate that the shopfront frame is from the 19th century, while the display windows replaced a smaller paned window on the left and the house door on the right. The first floor has six over six pane sash windows, and the second floor has three over six pane sash windows. The roof is plain and lacks a chimney stack. The rear elevation was not inspected. It is reported that the building underwent significant modernization during its conversion to flats in the 1980s, along with the adjoining properties at Nos. 14 and 14B, which share the upper floors. The shop interior is described as plain and modern.
