Description
17 Nevill Street is a three-storey building with a stucco front that has been painted, topped with a natural slate roof and brick stacks. It features a double depth plan with the entrance located on the left side. The building has two windows and includes a 19th-century shop front, which likely retains its original six-panelled door on the left, complete with a transom light above. The shop front is enhanced by pilasters that support console brackets and a deep cornice fascia. To the right, there is a recessed shop entrance with a two-light display window on the left, separated by a slim timber mullion. The first floor has six over six pane sash windows, while the second floor has three over six pane sashes. The roof is plain, with ridge stacks that have offsets.
Inside, the ground floor room features four cross-beams, indicating that the building may have originally been jettied, along with a late 16th-century fireplace. The upper floors were not accessible during the resurvey. The rear elevation has not been inspected.
