Description
9 Glendower Street is a three-storey building with a rendered and painted front and a Welsh slate roof. It has a double depth plan and does not have its own doorway, as this is included under the flying freehold of No. 7. The building features two windows, with the second floor having smaller windows. To the right, there is a six-panel door under No. 7, which has a three-pane overlight and a flat hood supported by brackets. The ground and first floor windows are six over six pane sashes set under segmental heads, while the second floor has three over six pane sashes, all with stone cills. The roof has a low pitch with an eaves cornice and a rendered stack on the left gable. The roof may have been altered in the early 19th century, or the entire upper floor could be an addition. The rear elevation is also rendered and painted, featuring an eight over eight pane sash window on the first floor and an eight plus eight casement window above.
During the recent inspection, only the ground floor was examined, which has been modernised in the late 20th century. However, the through passage and the small house at the rear, which is now part of No. 9, are clearly visible.
