Description

Salisbury Farmhouse is a three-storey building at the front and two storeys at the rear, featuring a catslide roof and a cellar. The structure is made of rubble and brick with a rendered finish, topped by a low-pitched Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. The front has three windows with horned 16-pane sashes set in reveals with narrow sills, and the top floor has 8-pane sashes. The ground floor includes a central porch with a flat leaded hood supported by slender cast-iron piers, leading up three steps to a central six-panelled door with an overlight. At the rear, there is a central arched opening.

At the time of inspection in October 1994, renovation work was in progress. Inside, there is a central staircase with a curved handrail and masked stick balusters, a grey marble fireplace in the sitting room, six-panelled doors with matching doorcases, and some surviving panelling around the windows. The floors are partly stone flagged, and there are high cross beams, some of which are boxed. The cellar is vaulted with curved stone stairs.
