Description

The Golden Lion Public House is a two-storey building constructed from rubble stone, featuring a four-window front that is pebbledashed. It has a steeply pitched roof made of artificial slate, with rendered stacks at both ends. The windows are primarily 12-pane boxed horned sashes, with one 16-pane sash located on the ground floor. The doorway is positioned to the center left and has a decorative surround with a leaded moulded hood supported by consoles, leading to a later four-panelled door. There is a plinth at the base of the building.

Internally, the building is now undivided but retains cross beams, one of which is chamfered. The open fireplaces have been remodelled; the fireplace to the right has been raised with a brick segmental arch while still keeping the lower moulded stone jambs. The fireplace to the left has been infilled with brick and stone but retains its timber lintel.
