Description

Magor House is a late-Georgian two-storey, three-window symmetrical building. It is constructed of roughcast rubble. The roof is hipped, covered in Welsh slate, and features a modillion eaves cornice and brick end stacks, with further stacks to the rear. The windows are twelve-pane and sixteen-pane sash windows. The central doorway is framed by a moulded doorcase with an open billet-moulded pediment supported by consoles, panelled reveals, an undivided fanlight with a renewed wrought-iron guard, and a renewed six-panelled door. Iron railings with spear and urn finials and a ramped central gate extend across the frontage from either side of the central door. A shallow decorative wrought-iron porch serves the rear door.

Inside, the hall and landing feature wide panelled segmental arches. The open string staircase has decorative tread ends and stick balusters with a moulded handrail. Original features include six-panelled doors with moulded surrounds, window shutters, and a grey marble fireplace with consoles.
