Description

The Westgate is a house built adjacent to Westgate Cottage, with an unclear division between the two properties. The exterior is stuccoed and painted, likely over brick, similar to Westgate Cottage, and features a Welsh slate roof with rendered stacks. The house has a double depth central entry plan and stands three storeys tall. The south elevation has two windows, although the right-hand window is obscured by the projecting Westgate Cottage. There is a central doorway with a two-storey canted bay to the left, which has plate glass sashes, while the other windows are plain one-over-one pane sashes. The roof is hipped and has two rendered stacks. The east-facing gable includes six-over-six pane sashes on the ground and first floors, and four-over-eight pane sashes above. The roof here is also hipped with a central stack. The left return gable and the rear elevation are more utilitarian in appearance. The interior has not been inspected during the resurvey.
