House, including attached railings and gates

This building is a house, constructed from local random rubble sandstone, featuring a natural slate roof and red brick stacks. It has raised rusticated stucco window dressings, suggesting that the house was originally intended to be rendered. The design is a detached double depth central entry house with a front elevation that consists of two storeys and three bays.

Access to the house is via two steps leading up to a pedimented doorcase, which is adorned with panelled pilasters, plain reveals, and a six-panelled door with the top four panels glazed. The house has sash windows with six over six panes set in plain reveals and rusticated surrounds. The roof is plain with a low pitch and gable stacks.

In front of the house, there is a shallow forecourt that is enclosed at each end by short stretches of walling and is bordered in front by low 19th-century wrought iron railings and gates. The rear elevation has not been inspected, and the interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
