Description

The entrance gates and gatepiers of Chepstow Racecourse, located at Middle Lodge, are constructed from sandstone ashlar. The gatepiers are square in shape with a small base and topped with a heavy modillion cornice cap that has a slight point to help shed rain. The gates are made of wrought iron and feature a double design with a flat top rail. The gateway connects to the lodge via a short section of park wall that stands approximately 2.25 meters high.
