Description
This is a small cast iron milepost located north of Bridge 53 on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. The oval section of the post displays the number 9 1/4, indicating the distance from the start of the canal in Newport. Below this, there is a small plaque that reads 'M C Co.', which stands for the Monmouthshire Canal Company.
