Description

Nos. 64-72 (even) Rockhill Road is a terrace of houses that step down the hill in pairs, with the first possibly including earlier work from the service wing of the 18th century Old Truck House. The terrace features two reflected pairs, and the single house at the end was truncated by the widening of Fountain Road, which used to be a tramway leading from the Pontymoile Tinplate Works to Lower Mill. The houses are rendered and mostly painted, likely over brick, with Welsh slate roofs, although several roofs have been replaced with artificial materials.

Each house is three storeys high and consists of a single bay. The ground floors feature a window with a keyed head and an arched doorway that includes a keystone and impost blocks. The upper floors have windows set within tall arched recesses. Most of the features are modern replacements; for instance, No. 64 has six over six sash windows, while No. 72 appears to have two over two Victorian plate glass sashes. The roofs are plain, and there are two brick stacks serving the entire terrace.

The rear elevations are mostly unpainted render, except for No. 64, which is painted and has modern replacement windows. Nos. 68 and 70 have modern red brick single-storey extensions. This house also has a modern red brick single-storey extension. The interiors were not inspected during the resurvey in December 1996.
