The Old Truck House

The Old Truck House is a semi-detached house built in the Queen Anne style, located on a corner site with a later terrace added to the service wing at the rear. The exterior features painted ashlared render, likely over stone rubble, and a Welsh slate roof with a tiled ridge. The house has a double fronted central entrance plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with three windows on the front. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, featuring eight over eight panes, except for the middle window which is smaller with four over six panes. All the windows have been replaced with modern PVC versions.

The central doorway is topped with what is likely an original bracket hood supported by richly carved consoles. It has a Victorian moulded panel door with a rectangular light above. The eaves and gutters are supported by delicate iron brackets, and the steep hipped roof includes three gabled dormers with three over six sash windows, as well as large squared stone end stacks.

On the left side of the house facing the street, there are two additional sash windows with six over nine panes on the first floor and smaller windows below, all of which are also modern PVC. The right side elevation has a window on the ground floor within the stack, while the rest of the elevation is blind. The rear elevation features four more PVC windows of varying sizes, another dormer, and two roof lights. Number 64 appears to be under the same ownership and was likely the service wing of 62, but is now part of the terrace at 64-72 (even) Rockhill Road. The interior was not inspected during the last survey in October 1996.
