Description

This cast iron milepost stands beside the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. It is approximately 60cm high and has an elliptical shape. The number '8 1/2' is raised in the centre, and a rectangular panel below bears the raised lettering 'M.C.Co.', indicating the Monmouthshire Canal Company. This represents group value as a surviving feature of the canal infrastructure.
