Description

Nos 1-3 (consec) Vicar's Cottages, Maesderwen Road. Three almshouses built as a symmetrical terrace in a minimal Tudor Revival style. Built of golden/brown squared coursed limestone with an artificial slate roof. Two storeys with a four window front to the road, 1:2:1 with the single outer bays set forward in gabled wings so as to give the impression of a C17 hall-and-crosswings house. The windows are all small paned cross-framed casements, three lights below and two above, with dripmoulds over. Centre gabled porch with steps to front door. Plain roofs with two four flued stacks with octagonal shafts and clay pots. The centre portion of this front is No.2 while Nos.1 and 3 face on the returns with two bay fronts with a gable and their own gabled porches, but these face south with the main front. Rear elevation not seen.

Interiors not inspected at the time of resurvey (November 1996).
