Description
The Old Railway Bridge at Coed-y-Gric is a Grade II listed structure consisting of two parts: a steel plate girder that spans the canal and a stone arch that crosses the footpath leading to the canal bridge. The stonework features large coursed squared blocks of limestone, with a semi-circular arch over the footpath that includes impost blocks, a keystone, and voussoirs. The parapet is set slightly forward above the arch. The span over the canal was likely originally made of cast or wrought iron, but it has been replaced with a steel plate girder. The entire bridge is finished with light steel railings. This bridge also crosses the boundary into the Panteg Community Area.
