Description

The war memorial in front of Pontrhydyrun Baptist Church is a classical tall pedestal memorial made of ashlar. It features a large square shaft with inscriptions that splay out towards the base, which has chamfered angles that run out at the bottom. The top frieze has chamfered corners and is topped with a square corniced cap that is egg-and-dart moulded, carrying a carved short Celtic cross. The shaft stands on a steeply chamfered base that rests on a plinth with a coved top moulding.
