Description

The war memorial, built around 1919, is made of ashlar stone. It features a base consisting of two square steps and two larger square blocks that bear inscriptions. Above this base is a slender, tapering shaft with broach-stopped chamfered edges, topped with a moulded section and a foliated cross. One of the inscriptions on the second step reads: "God asked Britain's homes a costly sacrifice and these ungrudging paid the price."
