Description

The war memorial, built around 1918 by Reginald Blomfield, is made of limestone ashlar. It features a tall square plinth with a moulded edge and two square steps above. The west side of the upper step is inscribed with the words: "To the Glory of God and in honoured Memory of all those who served their country in the Great War 1914-1918. Especially of those who fell whose names are here inscribed." The east, north, and south sides include 11 names inscribed. The memorial has a moulded base that supports an octagonal shaft, topped with a moulded cap that features a frieze and battlements. On the east side, there is a gabled crucifixion with a bearded saint.
