Description

The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features large additions from the early 19th century and later 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof.

The structure is L-shaped and has two storeys with six windows. The entrance front has a central Victorian door with a segmental head, a mullioned overlight, and a multi-moulded surround. There is a similar detail on the side light to the left of the door, both topped with a floating cornice. To the right of the door, there is a shallow single-storey bay window with two lights and a stone pent roof. To the left, a deeper square bay window also has a slate pent roof. Additionally, there is one four-pane sash window in a chamfered surround. On the first floor, there are six 12-pane sash windows, all in chamfered surrounds.

The roof is gabled and features a large hipped dormer with flat coping and end stacks. An older wing on the right return has one 12-pane sash window on the ground floor and three windows on the first floor, one of which is a 16-pane sash, while the others have had their intermediate glazing bars removed.

At the rear, there is a flush-panelled door and several irregularly placed 12-pane sash windows, including a large paired 12-pane stair window. Inside, the staircase has stick balusters, a cast-iron newel, and a wreathed handrail. The interior also features six-panelled doors and internal shutters.
