Description
Park Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century. It may have originally been converted into two cottages in the 18th century, but it has since been restored to a single dwelling and has undergone complete modernization with additions since it was listed. The building is constructed from roughly squared and coursed limestone rubble and features an artificial stone slate roof. It has one and a half storeys, four casement windows, and a central doorway. Originally a two-cell, single-depth house, an additional room has been added to the left side, complete with an extra window and a dormer since the listing in 1981. The roof has three gabled dormers with a steep pitch and two brick gable stacks. The south gable end includes two small lights, while the rear elevation has an extension, modern lattice casements, and four rooflights.
The interior was not accessible during the recent survey, but the previous listing description noted the presence of semi-spiral chimney stairs, evidence of a former post and panel partition, and stop-chamfered beams.
