Description

The tomb of William Edmunds, who died in 1832, is a chest tomb located at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. It is made of grey limestone with a darker base and cap, designed in an 18th century style. The monumental chest rests on a two-stepped plinth, with the upper step being moulded. The chest features corner pilasters in antis with vermiculated blocking. Each face of the tomb has a finely incised inscription dedicated to William Edmunds and other family members, with each panel framed by an inscription.
