Description
Cyncoed Farm Cottage is a small cottage divided into two units. It is constructed of stone rubble that is fully rendered, topped with a steeply pitched slate roof that has been replaced and includes dormers. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and features a front porch on the main unit, along with a lower single-bay single-storey extension on the side. While the windows have been altered, a pentice runs the length of the main unit at the rear, beneath which are two small casement windows. The structure has a battered appearance.
Inside, the cottage retains an open fireplace with a bread oven, and there is a spiral staircase with oak treads located to the right behind the original wide plank door, which has deep hinges. The heavy cross beams are stopped and chamfered. Two small rooms that were previously separated by a post and panel screen with a segmental arch have been modified; the re-sited screen now serves as panelling on the gable end wall, with a new staircase positioned nearby. It is believed that the A-frame roof trusses still survive.
