Description
Hall's Bridge is a railway viaduct that spans the River Ebbw and the Western Valleys Railway Line. It features a plate girder design supported by eight high, wide, and narrow piers made of snecked rockfaced stone. These piers extend from a deep railway cutting on the west to the continuation of the line at canal level on the east side of the by-pass. The eastern pier is a replacement, likely due to road construction. The stonework includes dressed arises, and many stones are drilled and fixed to a core. The single track deck is constructed of riveted metal plates and is supported by cross-braced structures beneath. The bridge has an open parapet made of L-shaped uprights and three rows of tubular bars, with the eastern bay having been altered.
