Description
The former railway bridge over the canal outfall is a high arch structure that carries the railway above the canal. It is largely hidden by vegetation and is constructed from large rock-faced coursed stone blocks with dressed edges. The bridge features buttresses on the north side. On the east side, there is a canal sluice, and a culvert directs water beneath the canal, which flows out through a brick-vaulted round-headed arch, creating a waterfall effect. The low parapet is topped with blue moulded brick coping and has a projecting tooled course at the base level on the outer face.
