Description

The Swansea Canal aqueduct over the Lower Clydach River is a canal aqueduct made of rubble stone, featuring a low segmental arch with cut stone voussoirs. It is a broad bridge that carries the canal, with footpaths on either side. Each footpath crosses a shallow overflow that spills out through long narrow slots under the parapets. The northwest side has a parapet of rubble stone, which is topped with an ovolo-moulded raised string course. The southeast side has a low parapet with tooled stone coping and added 20th-century railings.
