Description
Nos. 19-22 Y Groes is a long terrace of four houses built in the 19th century. The houses are roughcast rendered and feature a roof made of small slates, with wide stacks positioned just forward of the ridge. The design is symmetrical, with twin projecting cross gables for each pair of houses, separated by a central round arched gated passage that has stone voussoirs. The original windows are small-pane casements with shallow sills, consisting of three-light windows on the first floor of the gabled wings and canted bays on the ground floor. The roof has a low sweep with overhanging, slightly swept eaves on the central and side sections, and smaller first-floor windows located close under the eaves, with entrance doorways positioned in the angles with the gabled wings. The side elevations feature slate-hung gables and a two-window range.
Notable alterations include a replaced tile roof on No. 19, a replaced tile roof on No. 20, replaced windows on No. 21, and a replaced door and windows on No. 22.
