Description
Nos. 11-14 Y Groes is a long range of four terrace houses built in the early 20th century. The houses are roughcast rendered with roofs made of small slates, featuring slightly swept and overhanging eaves, as well as ridge and lateral stacks. The windows are small-pane casements with sills, and the ground floor windows are cross-framed.
The design is symmetrical, with a triple gable at the center and a passage beneath it. There are smaller gabled bays stepped back on each side, central recessed sections, and at each end, two further stepped gabled wings, with the outermost being the widest and projecting. Each house has a frontage consisting of a single window range across three levels. The gables are slightly swept over kneelers.
Entrances are located in porches that are unrendered and faced with coursed rockfaced stone and ashlar, featuring boarded part-glazed doors in the smaller gabled bays. The hoppers are dated 1913. Notably, No. 13 has a replaced window.
